A native of Edgefield, SC, Simpkins is married to Kesha Bibbs, and together they have two sons, Braylen and Braxton. He is the youngest son of the late Deacon Willie and Rev. Carmilla Simpkins. Simpkins is a 1996 graduate of Strom Thurmond High, a 1999 initiate into the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and a 2001 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He also holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling from Liberty University, earned in 2014. Additionally, Simpkins is the Founder & CEO of his nonprofit organization, Lĭv To Grō, Inc., further cementing his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

With a 17-year career as a Professional School Counselor in Rock Hill Schools, Simpkins has earned recognition as Teacher of the Year, demonstrating his passion for developing the youth of America. He also brings 12 years of experience as a high school football coach at Independence (NC) & South Pointe (SC), contributing to eight State Championships. During his tenure, he coached NFL players Jadeveon Clowney, Derion Kendrick, Nick McCloud, Stevie Gilmore, DeVonte Holloman, Hakeem Nicks, & Mohamed Massaquoi, just to name a few.

Simpkins’ journey is driven by a deep commitment to helping young adults navigate life’s challenges and discover their purpose. Having dedicated his career to both coaching and counseling, he has made it his mission to inspire students to thrive on and off the field. Through his coaching and speaking engagements, Simpkins works to retool mindsets and foster personal growth, empowering young adults to excel in every aspect of their lives.
